Washington County Booking Records
Washington County recent bookings are published daily through downloadable PDF reports and a live inmate roster on the Sheriff's Office website. Unlike counties that rely solely on a web-based search tool, Washington County publishes separate daily book-in reports for each day of the week, letting you pull up a specific day's worth of booking activity in one document. The live roster at the county website shows current inmates along with booking dates, estimated release dates, and days in custody. If you need to find information about a recent arrest in Woodbury, Stillwater, Cottage Grove, or anywhere else in Washington County, the county's booking resources give you multiple ways to track down that record.
Washington County Jail Overview
Washington County Daily Jail Booking Reports
Washington County publishes its booking data in a format you do not see often at the county level: daily PDF reports. The Daily Jail Booking Report page links to seven separate files, one for each day of the week, labeled Sunday through Saturday. Each PDF covers all bookings that occurred on that day and includes the booking number, full name, age, arrest date and time, release date and time if applicable, and the person's address. These reports are published by the Sheriff's Office as part of its public records obligations under Minnesota law.
The daily PDFs are useful when you know roughly when an arrest happened and want to see everyone booked that day. You can download the file directly from web1.co.washington.mn.us/WCBookings/ without any login. The reports do not require you to know a specific name. If you are looking for someone you heard was arrested on a particular day, just pull the corresponding day's report and scan through it.
For a different view, the live inmate roster at the county's roster PDF link shows current inmates in a format that includes last name, first name, middle initial, a JID number, booking date, booking number, estimated release date, and how many days the person has been in custody. That roster gives a snapshot of who is currently in the facility. Minnesota Statute 641.08 requires the Sheriff to maintain these jail records, and section 13.82 makes the booking data public.
Note: The daily PDFs refresh based on the day of the week. If you are looking for arrests from earlier in the week, download the file for that specific day before it gets overwritten.
The Washington County Daily Jail Booking Report page links to each day's PDF file and explains what fields are included in the booking data published by the Sheriff's Office.
Each downloadable PDF covers one calendar day of bookings and includes names, booking times, and address information for everyone processed into the Washington County Jail on that date.
Washington County Jail and Participating Agencies
The Washington County Jail is located at 15015 62nd Street North in Stillwater. It opened in June 1993 as a 228-bed direct supervision facility. The jail also has a smaller juvenile holding area: a five-bed temporary facility with an eight-day maximum hold. Jail Division Commander Roger Heinen leads the division, which includes 63 corrections officers, 9 sergeants, 5 full-time program coordinators, 7 office support staff, and 8 nurses. Medical care is provided through an on-site unit with registered nurses and a dental office.
A notable feature of the Washington County system is the number of outside agencies that book people here. Law enforcement from across the county funnels arrests through the same facility. Agencies that regularly book inmates include the Washington County Sheriff, Bayport Police, Cottage Grove Police, Forest Lake Police, Oak Park Heights Police, Oakdale Police, St. Paul Park Police, Stillwater Police, Woodbury Police, White Bear Lake Police, and the Minnesota State Patrol. That breadth means the Washington County booking roster captures a wide cross-section of arrests from all over the county, not just a single city or jurisdiction.
For data requests beyond what the public roster shows, email WCSO-BookingMotions@washingtoncountymn.gov. The Jail Division page and the main Sheriff's Office page have more information on the facility, services, and how to contact staff.

Washington County Booking Data: Access, Retention, and Expungement
Washington County booking records are public data under Minnesota Statute 13.85. That is the same framework that applies to arrest records across the state. Section 13.03 of the Government Data Practices Act gives people the right to request government records, including booking data not shown in the public roster. If the online tools do not have what you need, you can make a formal request through the email address listed above or by submitting a paper form to the jail.
The booking fee at Washington County is $25, charged at intake under Minnesota Statute 641.12. That fee is refundable if all charges are later dismissed or if the person is acquitted. To get the refund, you need proof from court administration that the case ended that way. The refund process is handled through the jail, not the courts.
Records retention follows the schedule set under Minnesota Statute 138.17. Washington County keeps booking records based on those state-set categories, which typically run longer than the public-facing view window. If someone's record was expunged under Minnesota Statute 609A, it will no longer appear in standard searches. Expungement eligibility in Washington County depends on the charges, the case outcome, and the time elapsed since the case closed. Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid at 612-334-5970 can help with eligibility questions. For broader criminal history checks, the BCA criminal history portal is available statewide at $8 per search.
Note: Washington County also offers fingerprinting by appointment for licensing and adoption purposes. Appointments are available Monday and Wednesday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Friday 10:00 AM to noon. Call the jail line to schedule.
